Geocache Description:

This is a replacement cache for one that was lost.  I loved the history though, so I found a new spot for it!

Small camo bison tube with log only -- BYOP! -- 6496’ above sea level -- Please park on the wide part of the road on the corner and walk to this cache rather than parking just around a blind curve where people may not have advanced notice of your vehicle!  Safety First!!!   But enjoy the gorgeous view of the Yampa River and the Hayden Valley as you walk along the road to this cache!

Info taken from the previous cache  “The ranch with the large white barn and house just to the left of this cache (North) was built by Isadore Bolton who came from Russia in 1905 with no belongings, but with the idea that sheep were the way to financial security. Not a popular idea in NW CO at that time--ranchers were very protective of their cattle and grasslands. Bolton was in the middle of the cattle and sheep wars of the time. He lost many sheep to clubbing and sheep wagons to fire. However, when he died in 1952, his estate was in excess of $2 million. Not bad for a penniless immigrant with a wild idea.”

This cache MAY be accessible in the winter -- although it would depend on how deep the snowbanks are.
