A few people have asked me over the years how the LAME theme got started in Topeka. So I'll 'splain. I put out an earthcache, my first one, at Mushroom Rock State Park, in 2009. I was very proud of myself. Phil of Phil & Verla from OZ posted this little passage as part of his log:

Like this one a lot.
A bit of history and science all at the same time.
Made us have to learn a little bit more about our GPSr.
Entertainment for the whole family.

If you read the first letter of each of his lines, downward, it spells "LAME". The man dissed my first earthcache, my pride and joy! I wanted to kill him!

So that's how it all got started. Phil and I later that year co-hosted an event in Topeka and called it Local Area Meet and Eat and if you take the first letter...........ah, you get it now.

So for this hide, um, yeah, I hid a pill bottle. If my mentors in Kansas City and Wichita ever find out I've hidden a pill bottle, they will never let me hear the end of it. This is the lamest of all cache containers in my humble opinion. They really aren't waterproof, and don't hold up well over the long term in the elements. But here you are, the area's second LAME hide. Enjoy!
