Quarry Island Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Inuksuuk: I'm out here in my kayak, and decided that it's time to archive the series in Quarry Bay. I'll leave the 2 on islands. There are new cottages going up here and there along the shorelines, which makes finding shoreline trees overhanging the water, and out of sight of muggles, more challenging, but it's still a nice paddle around the islands. I found all my geocaches out here today, but decided to remove 4 of the 6. Perhaps someone else will find new and even better spots for a new series here in Quarry Bay in Stoney Lske.

Geocache Description:

Quarry Bay is a section of Stoney Lake that is quite populated but still has some islands that are not privately owned. The Quarry Bay Beach is a great place for a swim or to put in your kayak or canoe for a paddle around the many small islands.

Quarry Island is a large island in Quarry Bay of Stoney Lake. This cache is hanging in a branch over the water so that you do not need to touch private property.

As with all our paddle-to geocaches, we advise you to check wind speed carefully before you venture out. The caches are in a bay and it will be less windy than out on the open lake, however, Stoney Lake can get very windy, so don't go out if the wind speed is above 15 km - 19 km per hour.

Enjoy your paddle !
