In the French Way route of the Camino de Santiago, on the way out of Triacastela, there are two alternatives to reach Sarria, one going through San Xil and another through Samos. The route of Samos diverts to the south through the surroundings of River Sarria, offering beautiful scenery and numerous examples of popular Galician architecture. If you are here is because you've chosen this variant and you are arriving in Samos: welcome! (what remains is downhill). Here you can admire a beautiful view of one of the most important buildings of the French Way in Galicia: the Monastery of St. Julian of Samos.
All the services needed by pilgrims can be found in this town of less than 1500 inhabitants. Before leaving Samos, it is recommended visiting the Monastery and the Cypress Chapel (s. IX-X).

En el Camino de Santiago Francés, a la salida de Triacastela, existen dos alternativas para llegar a Sarria, una por San Xil y otra por Samos. La variante de Samos se desvía hacia el sur por el entorno del río Sarria, ofreciendo hermosos paisajes y numerosos ejemplos de la arquitectura popular gallega. Desde aquí puedes contemplar una hermosa vista de uno de los edificios más importantes del Camino Francés en Galicia: el Monasterio de San Julián de Samos.
En esta localidad de menos de 1500 habitantes se pueden encontrar todos los servicios que necesita el peregrino. Antes de abandonar Samos son recomendables las visitas al Monasterio y a la capilla del Ciprés (s. IX-X).
