I was inspired to put this cache and another nearby one while doing a nearby multi and enjoying the walk and views. I noticed that there were some reasonable gaps between some of the physical waypoints of the multi that could be filled. My hope is to encourage more people to come this way to enjoy both the walk and the views. Anyone who is keen can continue all the way up to the Soldiers Monument and Highcliff Rd. That walk takes me about an hour one way with no geocaching.
The first part of the track is alonside the lagoon and through bush and you begin a climb that takes you onto pasture land. Please leave any dogs behind as this is private land with an easement for the track. When the track does a right hand turn you are on a paper road that heads straight up to Highcliff Rd. You will notice in places the remains of stone walls along the side of the road.
This is a great cache to do with kids especially if you do others along the track. Jus be aware that in winter, early spring and after heavy rain it could be slippery. Boots are a good idea. There are also some spots that are a bit boggy. Keep an eye on younger people when around the lagoon. There is a playground and picnic tables at the car park but no toilets.
