Fancy a wee dam?
Alas, there's no fine malts on offer here, unless you bring your own. But a wee drop or two of some fine Highland water from the high mountains above might go rather nicely with a 10-year-old aged in a sherry cask.
Everyone in the village knows this as the wee dam, as it is rather diminutive compared to its big brother further up the valley, which powers the hydroelectric scheme. The reservoir behind the dam, which is a good spot for taking photographs, supplies water for Kinlochleven.
Please take care near the deep water and follow the advice on the safety signs. You do not need to go anywhere need the water's edge to find this small clip lock geocache. It's a popular spot for West Highland Way walkers to rest awhile on their descent from the Devil's Staircase so you may have to wait for them to pass as you make your dash for the cache.
