Geocache Description:

We'll be cleaning up the park between 9am and 12pm. We will meet at 9am for instructions, signing the log & then divide and conquer the shorelines. Come enjoy some beautiful views of the Bay, San Francisco, and a lovely park with some geocaching friends while doing some good!

We might have a need for some volunteers in kayaks to help with some water debris- I'll post an announcement to the event this week with that info!

September 17th starts off CITO Week AND it is also Coastal Cleanup Day, which tens of thousands of volunteers will congregate at various points along the California coastline to clean up our beaches. 80% of the trash picked up along San Francisco's coasts occurs on the east side of the City by the Bay, so we will have our work cut out for us! We'll be partnering with the SF Park & Rec - Greenagers to clean up Heron's Head Park and the nearby waterfront.

We will meet at the benches near the front lawn adjacent to the parking lot.

Bring a pair of garden/kitchen/work gloves. (Disposable gloves will be available if needed). Trash will be bigger than a normal CITO event, so you won't regret bringing these thicker gloves!
Bring a personal water bottle. We'll have stations for refilling.
Bring a hat and sunscreen to protect yourself from the sun
If you're bringing anyone under the age of 18, you need to bring this signed release ahead of time.

After the event, there will be a few picnickers, but I think we'll walk a block over to the local taco stand and then explore the area.
