Elkridge Main Street Railroad Crossing Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

lpaulriddle: Stopped by here this afternoon. Not sure what happened to this, but it's gone. The hiding place has gotten more overgrown since I placed the cache, and to be honest, there's nothing particularly interesting or compelling here that warrants a cache. In light of all that, I'm archiving this. Thanks to all who found it. For anyone curious, it was a fake rock at the base of one of the guard rail support posts.

Geocache Description:

Elkridge needs some more hides, and I've had this container burning a hole in my pocket for too long. Should be a quick find for the experienced cacher. Enjoy!

This hide is located at the end of the southern section of Main Street in the older section of Elkridge. The road is split in half by the railroad tracks. I have read that it has been that way since 1914, when what is now US Route 1 was built. There's an old, abandoned pedestrian tunnel here that runs under the tracks. It's currently boarded up, though there has been some talk of re-opening it. You do not need to go on or near the railroad tracks to find this cache. There is plenty of parking within 100' of GZ; a waypoint is included for reference.

This area is usually pretty quiet, but watch for the occasional muggle.
