Geocache Description:


The CITO event will take place along the first half of Bernheim's Bike Hike trail. This section of trail parallels and crosses Long Lick Creek several times along the way.
The trailhead, located near Jim Beam Distillery, is across the road from Bernheim Forest and the only public trail located outside of their gates. Because of its location it is accessible to the public 24 hours a day making it the most susceptible area for littering.  
 
Parking for this event will be in the Bike Hike trailhead lot at the posted coordinates. We will meet here at 8:30 AM for a short howdy and since October is pumpkin everything month there will be Pumpkin Pop Tarts and Cranberry Pumpkin muffins.
We’ll Hit the trail at 8:45 AM, picking up any trash we may find near the trail and creek. Trash bags will be provided and cotton gloves will also be available if you forget yours. Along our way we will just happen to pass by 11 new caches and a couple older ones just waiting to be found. The event will last about 2 hours and end up at the old Clermont Road gate. If you choose to continue on there are 14 more caches to find along this trail for a total of 26.
After this event concludes you may want to check out the nearby Geofest Event (GC6PY6T) being held at Bernheim’s annual Colorfest. There is no charge for parking at the Hike Bike trailhead but if you do decide to check out Colorfest remember there is a $5 a car entry fee to that section of the forest.

This event has been approved by Bernheim Arboretum and Research Forest.
