With summer coming to an end GRHardy3 and I decided to do the Muir Creek walk before the rainy season is upon us. This was a very memorable walk/hike and in the end after finding all the caches we decided that we didn't want it to end. The weather was perfect...not too hot and not too cold. The sun was shining and the scenery along the way was incredible.
It was a bit of an obstacle course with many river crossings along the way where we hopped from rock to rock and somehow managed to avoid slipping in. I don't think that I would recommend this trek in the winter months. But when the water levels are down and the river bed is exposed in places like it was today and there are enough dry rocks to make the crossings safer then this is an extremely worthwhile adventure.
The cache is hidden on top of a large log that has another log with a root ball on top of it. There is a large stump nearby (to the south of the cache). The cache is behind the upper log on top of large lower log with rocks on top.
