Beyound Edward's favourite
Maybe King Edward VII walked this way whilst stalking red deer during his stay at Mamore Lodge further up the hillside, having named the waterfall below this point Grey Mare. Why didn't he name the waterfall using his favourite horse's name, rather than giving it such a generic title?
The best approach to this cache is to head away from the Grey Mares Waterfall and take an eroded stalkers path that zig-zags up the hill behind it. There's a fair amount of loose stone underfoot, but it will soon take you through the birch woodland, which becomes patchier higher up. Then dropping back down towards the Allt Coire na Ba, you'll discover a small wooden footbridge close to the cache. It’s a good place to stand and consider exactly where the cache is hidden, as the water crashes below your feet.
The cache is a small film canister, with only space for one or two small swaps. You will need to bring your own pen.
