Most people visiting Oak Hammock Marsh only explore the trails that are close to the Centre. However, there are over 30 kilometers of trails to explore and each can reveal fascinating aspect of the marsh.
These backcountry trails are not mowed or groomed as regularly as the ones closer to the Interpretive Centre since many species will nest in close proximity of those trails and mowing them would destroy their habitat.
Make sure to take plenty of water and a good map when venturing into the backcountry trails of the Oak Hammock Marsh!
