Back Lane - 4 Traditional Cache

A series of five caches on this nice little lane that runs between the A59 at Sollom and the A59 at Tarleton. It is a nicely wooded lane with plenty of horses in the fields and birds including Buzzards, in the right season. The walk is around 1 mile in each direction and connects with two other series of caches, Gadget Grans "Green Lane" and our own "Tarleton Stroll". Continuing with either of these involves crossing the busy A59 and great care must be taken. We have it from a reliable source that this lane was used by the local Farmers when they were going with their horse and carts to Preston Market, so as to avoid paying tolls on the main road of the day.  It can be a little mucky after rain so wear the appropriate footwear.
