Geocache Description:

THE FOOTPATH IS JUST A LITTLE WAY DOWN THE ROAD . DO NOT FOLLOW WYE VALLEY F.P

The cache that was close to here was originally the Cherry Hill Bonus this series has now been archived and this is the first in a new loop around Brockhampton. A walk of about 3 miles.

The container is a Bison tube .

Capler Camp is an iron age hill fort that was surveyed in 1924. The defensive ditches were found to have been cut into the natural rock of the hill but there did not seem to be any evidence of occupation. Later in 2004 a geophysical survey was carried out and they discovered what appears to be an iron age round house. Therefore there must have been some occupation. There is a walk that takes you around the camp that is not too far away from the cache.
There are great views all around both from the parking and the cache site itself.

This series of caches will take you on a walk around Brockhampton. Starting at the parking by the viewpoint overlooking the river Wye. After the Capler Camp cache the walk takes you along a trail that follows pillars pointing out some of the historic details of farming and living in the area. This not only makes the walk easy to follow but gives some interesting facts along the way. The last part of the walk takes you along a portion of the Wye Valley way and back to start. You may also like to tackle Brockhampton Church Micro GC6TJPP owner Billabong during your walk. Our cache Who Knew the View Gc6CM41 is also near the parking. You will walk through fields that may have crops or livestock in so be prepared for muddy boots when conditions are wet and keep control of dogs where there are cows or sheep. Some caches may need tweezers. You will also need a pen or pencil for quite a few.

For the correct footpath from here follow field edge to stile and given waypoint. There is a gap in the hedge that cuts the corner off that makes missing out two stiles possible but this is not the actual path.
