This cache is placed near an area of significant Aboriginal cultural heritage importance. The lake is in the Country of the Bundjalung Nation and in particular the local Arakwal. The Ti Tree lake has special significance in particular to women of the Arakwal, where it was (and still is) used as a meeting and bathing area. To the North of the lake is a National Park administered Aboriginal Area, known as the "Ti Tree Lake Aboriginal Area". Please do not enter this area, it is a sacred space & off limits, and the cache is not in this area.
This cache has the purpose to promote public appreciation and understanding of the area’s natural and cultural values and significance for the Arakwal, and in a way that will promote sustainable visitor use and enjoyment that is compatible with the Aboriginal area’s natural and cultural values, respect for the land, and the cultural values of the Bundjalung people
