I thought an antique water pump in the Galway suburbs, surrounded by residential and commercial units was a little bit unusual. There is no information about the pumps history, but to find such a pump where it is, was unusual enough to place a cache.
For the geokids its a chance to explain what it was like to walk to the well and have to pump water, rather the the luxury we have today of turning on the tap at home.
