Il ponte
Realizzato interamente in acciaio su 105 metri di lunghezza e 35 al massimo in altezza, il ponte AVIS è dotato di corde anti-vento per evitare le oscillazioni; la struttura consente di superare la frana caduta durante l’alluvione del novembre 2010 sulla strada del Re, poco dopo l'Ossario di colle Bellavista, rendendo di nuovo percorribile il cosiddetto "anello di Campogrosso". In avvio del ponte è stato installato un grande pannello con le nome comportamentali che devono assumere le persone che lo percorrono.
La sezione AVIS di Schio, che proprio quest'anno festeggia il 60° della fondazione, nacque in seguito ad un tragico incidente avvenuto il primo settembre 1956, quando una corriera che transitava nella zona dell’attuale ponte di corde scivolò sotto strada. La grande domanda di sangue per salvare i numerosi passeggeri feriti diede il là alla nascita dell’Avis scledense; per questi motivi il ponte è stato intitolato proprio a questa associazione.
