Geocache Description:

On the inner south door of Quay Place (St Mary at the Quay church) is a sanctuary ring. This is the oldest part of the church, part of the building that stood here before this one. Those accused of crimes would hold onto the ring to claim sanctuary from the church.

Near the south door, outside, you'll find the first cache in the Quay Place trail...

The cache is fairly large, shaped like something you might use to record your find...but on a larger scale.

This is the first in a short series of caches linked to the characters that were parishioners of St Mary at the Quay church over the last 500 years. See if you can get them all.
