This is #46 in a series of caches highlighting Oconto County barn quilts. The caches are roadside park and grabs within sight of each of the barns with quilts on them.
The BQOOC project was launched in April 2013. The goal is to create a pathway into all of the communities of Oconto County with the hopes of generating tourism, as well as to bring attention to the unique architecture and history of the barns and other significant buildings.
The Oconto Electric Coop is generously supporting this project by donating the use of their equipment for the installation of the blocks and the OEC lineman are donating their time.
The Oconto County Economic Development Corp is encouraging this project and will eventually have a map of barn quilt locations posted on their county website.
New View Industries is painting and constructing the blocks at their facility in Gillet. Groups and individuals are encouraged to come to their facility to help paint their own.
TO OUR FELLOW POTENTIAL CACHE HIDERS:
Sunshine And I have hidden the first 7 in this series and have no immediate plans to hide anymore. There are presently over 40 more and more to come that would be nice to have caches hidden by them. If you are interested please feel free to copy and paste the info on our cache pages and all you will have to change is the quilt number. Keep the cache name in the same format and it will look like one big series hidden by multiple hiders, This would be a nice way to increase the amount of cachers coming to Oconto County to see it's great beauty.
