Geocache Description:

Another Roadside Attraction Geotrail

South Carolina - Reptile Capital of the World

There is nothing better than a good road trip: driving down the open road, eating at tiny roadside diners, going 150 miles out of the way to take a selfie in front of … the Peachoid water tower! Oh Say, can you see … me with the world’s largest frying pan?

This geotrail honors those unique, odd, bizarre, fun, historic, campy, weird, and just downright interesting roadside attractions in North and South Carolina. The caches aren’t meant to be hard, it is a power-trail after all. None of the caches are hidden at the posted locations - but answer the question correctly and you will have a working set of coordinates. All of the hides are preform bottles.

Get up close and personal with some of the most dangerous and beautiful animals on the planet at South Carolina's largest reptile farm. This 15-acre park features hundreds of species of reptiles as well as other exotic animals, including a variety of birds and mammals. Of course, alligators are the main attraction and there are hundreds on site. Enjoy feeding shows as handlers coax these prehistoric beasts out of the water and onto dry land to claim a free chicken dinner. The park also holds live gator-handling shows so visitors can see these fascinating gators in action. Ten-footers, 15-footers and even a 20-foot croc named Utan roam the grounds and waters as if in the wild. Famous for its rare collection of other reptiles, including the Snake House that displays deadly venomous snakes from around the world and species that are native to the Carolinas. The self-proclaimed Reptile Capital of the World features frighteningly long pythons and boas as well as various species if vipers. New exibits include Chilean flamingos and red kangaroos.
