World Mental Health Day is celebrated every year on the 10th October. The overall objective of the day is to raise awareness of mental health issues around the world. This cache was hidden in time for World Mental Health Day 2016.
Up to a quarter of Australia's population will experience mental health difficulties some time during their life. This is something I've struggled with for a number of years now and I've spent many months in the nearby private mental health hospital. I've never made a secret of my illness. My children have lived this journey with me and because of them I wrote a children's picture book called "My Mum has Depression" to help other parents talk openly with children about depression. This cache has been placed to encourage everyone to speak out about their mental health experiences. The more we talk about mental illness the more it can be understood. Explaining it to our offspring is a good start.
There will be a copy of the book as a prize for the FTF.
