Die Carl-August-Allee, ursprünglich Sophienstraße genannt, ist für alle Bahnreisenden das Tor zur Stadt Weimar. Sie führt vom Bahnhofsvorplatz in Richtung der Weimarer Innenstadt bis zum Neuen Museum (https://www.klassik-stiftung.de/einrichtungen/museen/neues-museum-weimar/) und natürlich in entgegengesetzte Richtung.
Die Allee ist gesäumt von klassizistischen und historistischen Gebäuden aus der Zeit der Jahrhundertwende und führt vorbei am Geologischen Landesamt (inkl Earthcache), dem Stegmannschem Haus und dem Buchenwaldplatz.

Carl-August-Allee, originally called Sophienstraße, is the gateway to the city of Weimar for all rail travellers. It leads from the station forecourt in the direction of Weimar's city centre to the Neues Museum (https://www.klassik-stiftung.de/einrichtungen/museen/neues-museum-weimar/) and of course in the opposite direction. The avenue is lined with classicist and historicist buildings from the turn of the century and leads past the Geological State Office (incl. Earthcache), Stegmannsches house and Buchenwald square.
