Geocache Description:

Another in the BIRD series of caches.  There are always plenty of birds to be see on the Great River Walk, and if you are lucky you might be able to spot an Eastern Whipbird.

Stealth is needed as the path can be busy at times, and nearby workers can be sitting outside! Best time is outside working hours. As always be aware of snakes on hot days.

The Eastern Whipbird is a dark crested bird 25-30cm.  Head and crest black with a bold white cheek stripe. Upper body and tail are dark olive green.

Its call is a "whipcrack" call by the male, and the female responds "choo choo".

Whipbirds can be heard along the Great River Walk, (The area around GZ can get boggy, If so, access can be made along the fenceline).
