Split Rock is a well-known geological feature of the Warrumbungle National Park. This Geocache is one of a number in the park that gives the Geocacher an adventure allowing them to obtain a greater appreciation of what this unique park has to offer. It offers splendid views, interesting geology, fauna and history on the area.
Visit the Warrumbungle National Park Visitor Centre and obtain an up-to-date map, walking track advise and weather conditions. Also let them know you are heading up to Split Rock. We would recommend you approach this circuit walk in an anti-clockwise fashion to make the most of the scenery and for a little more ease. Starting at Split Rock Car Park walk along the fire trail and follow the signs to Split Rock. It's a three hour walk so take plenty of water and allow heaps of light.
