Olson Dam, named after my family, was my back yard when I was a kid. The area where the cache is located, upon completion of the dam project in the mid-1970's, was a vast expanse of terraced dirt peppered with tree seedlings. Before the vegetation took over, we considered the shore our "beach" and would swim here on hot summer afternoons. Now the area has matured into a thriving, multi-layered ecosystem for land animals, fish and fowl. Enjoy!
Note that this area is posted, but not for trespassing. Exploring is allowed; hunting and fishing are not.
