DE: Moos ... im Garten häufig gehasst, erfüllt es im Wald wichtige Aufgaben:
Es speichert in kurzer Zeit große Mengen Regenwasser wie ein Schwamm und beugt damit der Bodenerosion vor. Wird es wieder trockener, wird das gespeicherte Wasser langsam an den Boden und die Umgebungsluft abgegeben, die Luftfeuchtigkeit wird erhöht und somit das Mikroklima gekühlt.
Die meisten Moose beziehen ihre Nährstoffe nicht aus dem Boden, sondern nehmen sie über den Niederschlag auf und bringen somit die Nährstoffe aus der Atmosphäre ins Ökosystem. Nur Arten mit gut ausgebildetem Leitsystem nehmen Nährstoffe über den Boden auf. Um auf die besondere Wichtigkeit der Moose aufmerksam zu machen, wurde dieser Geocache an einer sehr moosreichen Stelle versteckt.

EN: Moss ... is often hated in the garden, but very important in the forest:
Like a sponge it accumulates a lots of rainwater in a short time and protects the soil from erosion. When its getting dry, the saved water releases slowly to the ground and into the air, which rises the air moisture and cool down the microclimate.
The most breeds of moss obtains their nutrients not out of the ground, but absorb them from the air and so they bring the nutrients into the eco system of the forest. Only breeds with a good developed root system absorb the nutrients out of the ground. To call attention for the specific importance of moss, this geocache was hidden at a place where you can find a lots of moss.
Please be careful at your quest and don't tramp down too much of the moss
