Built to Last Traditional Cache

When I came to find another cache in the area, my primary intention was to see this location.  I enjoy seeing remains of days gone by and feel it is a cache worthy site.  

Upon searching images online, I have concluded that this was built to be a root cellar...but still so many things we will probably never know.  How old is it?  Who used it?  What did this piece of land look like when it was a homestead?  

Cache is located on gamelands, so please remember to wear your orange, be mindful of hunters in the area, and obey all applicable rules.
