La ligne de Carentan à Carteret est une ancienne ligne de chemin de fer française, du département de la Manche.
(The railway line of Carentan – Carteret, is an old line of the French railway in the Manche department).
Elle reliait entre elles les localités de Carentan et Carteret.
Elle permettait ainsi une traversée est-ouest du Cotentin ainsi que la liaison de Paris Saint-Lazare à Carteret via Carentan.
(It connected the towns of Carentan and Carteret. It thus allowed a crossing east-west Cotentin and the connecting Paris Saint-Lazare in Carteret via Carentan).
La section de La Haye-du-Puits à Carteret a été ouverte à l'exploitation la première, le 1er juillet 1896.
Le 18 novembre 1908, la Compagnie des chemins de fer de l'Ouest a été rachetée par l'Administration des chemins de fer de l'État et enfin la ligne deviendra propriété de la Société nationale des chemins de fer français (SNCF) le 1er janvier 1938.

(The section of La Haye-du-Puits in Carteret was opened for operation the first time on 1 July 1896.
On November 18 1908, the Company of Western Railway was acquired by the Administration of railways of the state and finally the line became property of the National Society of French railways (SNCF) 1 in January 1938).
Elle a été fermée au service des voyageurs dans le courant de l'été 1976.
(The line was closed to passengers in the Summer of 1976)
Il offre maintenant un long chemin pour les promenades tranquilles, populaire auprès des propriétaires de chiens.
(It now offers a long chemin for tranqil walks, popular with dog owners).
