This Historical Building is one of three buildings in Gallup which are products of the WPA (Work Projects Administration)—part of the New Deal agency, that gave jobs to millions of unemployed men in carrying out public works projects during the Great Depression. This historic building originally housed Gallup’s National Guard Armory. It is currently the home of a community recreation center.
