Here's a cache to give you a chance to stretch your legs while traveling. BRING A WRITING STICK! May not be accessible during winter
After visiting a nearby cache at the Scenic Overlook off of highway 89, across from the Sluice Boxes, be sure to also give this one a try. Allow enough time to read the informational signs and learn some interesting facts about the area. The cache itself is a short distance from the road, through some tall grasses, short brush, and lots of cactus. There are some minor terrain changes and uneven ground. To access this cache from the Great Falls side, I suggest parking on the far (Monarch) end of the scenic loop road past the wide parking area until it almost meets the main loop road again. I highly recommend long pants and hiking boots or other thick soled shoes, due to cockle burs and other spiky plants. Be aware of snakes that may be in the area during warm weather. Cache retrieval may be problematic for those under 4 feet tall. Be careful when exploring the area. There is quite a steep sided Gulch if you should venture PAST the brow of the hill. This is a small sized cache, with room for swag. PLEASE bring a writing implement with you to sign the log.
