The game is afoot! On 17 December, 2016, Corgis will be hosting a geocaching-themed scavenger hunt. The start and finish points are at the posted coordinates, and in between, you're allowed to roam wherever you choose. After the event, we'll find a place where we can sit down for coffee, tally up the scores, and have a generally sociable time.
If you do not want to take part in the hunt but still want to meet us in the morning, that's totally cool as well
What are the rules?
- You may choose to play as an individual or a team, however, we strongly recommend that you go in at least a team of 2. If you're an individual, you might want to team up with another single cacher, or (even better) invite muggle friends.
- If you do play as a team, you CANNOT split up for the duration of the hunt.
- The event will begin at 8:30 am. At that time, we'll hand out a list of items that you have to find, and off you go!
- Bring us as many of the items as you can by 1:30 pm. You'll receive a number of points (specified on the list) for each item you bring us.
- With one or two exceptions, you are not allowed to spend money to obtain any of the items.
- To get around, you may walk/jog/run or take public transport (bus or MRT). You may NOT use any private transportation (car, scooter, bicycle, skateboard, roller blades, Segway, etc.). You may NOT use taxis, Uber, Grab etc.
- Don't be late to return! You will be penalized for every minute you arrive past 1:30 pm (according to our phone clocks)
- Yup, some of these rules can't be enforced, but geocaching is a game that works on an honour system anyway, so be your usual honest selves.
Do I have to pay to enter?
Nope. Not one red cent. But it would be good if you commit and sign up as soon as you can to help us with planning.
Do I need any special equipment?
You'll need a camera/video camera for some of the tasks. Handphone camera works fine.
Will there be prizes?
Oh yes, there will be.
I'm new to geocaching...can I still join you?
We would love to get to know you! Corgis don't bite (although we may nip playfully at your heels). Also, none of the items require you to have found caches previously (although they may assume some knowledge of geocaching).
