Geocache Description:

At this exact site 5 people died.

If you look very carefully, you can see along both banks where a bridge once crossed this small creek on what was once the main highway between Wheatland and Cheyenne. A 1935 downpour washed this bridge out late at night and a doctor, his wife, his son, and his daughter-in- law were thrown into the unusually high water.. All were killed. Three hours later a young man also crashed into the creek and drowned. Their bodies were not found until the next morning. A complete write-up of the tragedy should be in the cache. Lots of weeds, cactus, and water--be prepared.
