Geocache Description:

A scenic circuit walk through the lovely sand dunes at Merthyr Mawr. There are 7 caches in this little series.

There is parking very close to the first cache in this series. It is pay and display, so take some change. There is also a public toilet, and if you are lucky, sometimes an ice cream van :)

This beautiful nature reserve is designated as a Special Site of Scientific Interest because of its wealth of plants and insect life. It is also well known as a place where some nationally rare and unusual fungi species grow. There is a series of well and not so well trodden pathes throughout the sand dunes, this walk will take you on a few of them. We suggest walking boots and in winter months maybe wellies.

Walking into the heart of the dunes....... the cache is a small small camo box at ground level..

Cache placed with the kind permissions of National Resources Wales & Merthyr Mawr Estate
