Geocache Description:

The cache IS at the posted coordinates.

The Challenge

Find at least 100 Traditional-type Alberta caches that are located at least 1,800 metres above sea level.

Feel free to click on the Project-GC banner, below, to see if you’ve completed this challenge:

PGC Checker

You’re looking for a preform container (like a large test tube) hidden 1,829 metres above sea level. Stay to the ridge’s south side to avoid the worst of the windfall. Approaching from the southwest might be easier than coming from the east.

The 3.0-star difficulty rating is based on the challenge’s difficulty. The cache itself would be rated at 1.5 stars. The 4.0-star terrain rating does apply to this cache hide.

Please heed Sleepy_hollow’s warning: “Travel to the cache site involves off-trail travel with steep trail conditions, blow down, loose rocks, and exposed tree roots. Caution is advised at all times on this off-trail adventure.”

The Details

  • Only Traditional-type caches qualify for this challenge.

  • Only caches located within Alberta, Canada, qualify for this challenge.

  • Normal geocaching conventions apply. For example, you cannot find your own caches.

Logging this Cache

You can sign this cache’s physical log sheet at any time – before, during, or after your qualifying day. But do not log an online “Found It” until you’ve signed this cache’s physical log sheet and shown that you’ve met the challenge requirements. We’ll delete any premature “Found Its.”

If you sign the physical log sheet before you complete the requirements, then you can log an online “Write Note” to help you remember this fact.

Providing Proof

One way to prove you’ve met this challenge’s requirement is to upload all or some of the Project-GC challenge checker’s output (see above) to your online log:

Alternatively, you can manually list your 100 qualifying finds on your online log. Be sure to include each cache’s GCCode, elevation, and found date. Here’s a partial list of our qualifying finds:
