Geocache Description:

The 38th installment of the Rest 'n Peace - Centre County cemetery series is a non-traditional burial site, only inasmuch as the majority of us are used to stones and/or script recording our burials. Instead, "this field is supposedly a large Native American graveyard. It is about 500 x 500 feet and might contain the graves of about 200 Indians." - Centre County Genealogical Society

As no markers exist at this spot, only fragmented bits of history evidenced from infrastructure improvements and spoken of in verbal remembrances tell the tale of these burials. Truly, even the nation of these Native Americans in unknown, as Linn's History of Centre County remarks than many tribes (Six Nations) fluxed through this area in the early part of European settlement. Shawanese, Iriquos, Lenape, who knows... but as many of the buildings and streets in this area bear names of settlers, even more bear the names of this county's indigenous peoples. Logan, Nittany, Bald Eagle to name a few. The name of the adjoining road, Indian Hill, may be in recognition of this area, but as to the detail of this site we are likely to never know.

Parking is available along the road by the 7 birches. The site of the burials is behind these trees, on the south side of the road.
