BEAUTY IN DECAY

Hawkhill

This cache features the remains of the bomb and ammunitions store that were in Hawkhill Inclosure supporting a large airfield on Beaulieu Heath during World War II. All that remains here now are a few brick walls and concrete platforms and some hard standing track.
Some bits are now being conquered by nature.
Feature on cache page is a photo we took from the south of the final cache site.

The information at the published co-ords is for an information board where the data for the final co-ords is written. You may also be able to use an online search engine but we haven’t tried.
There are several on line links presently giving information about the Hawkhill bomb store.

On the information board find the data to answer our A B C D E that we have used to replace some of the numbers shown on the Board.

“From 194C to 195D"

“opened in 194A

“returned to the Forestry Commission in 195B

“A bomb-train of 2E0 lb”

Final co-ords N 50 49.DE(B-E) W 001 30.A(E-C)C

Check sum for ALL digits = 38

Approach from East of the wall.
Watch out for Muggles

NB. Please note the cache is Not hidden under the conrete cover shown in the photo nor is it in, on or under the brick wall.

Cache is a very small clip lock container inside a camo bag both marked "Geocache contents harmless".
N.B. The stamp is not a swop
