We've passed by this church many times and used to have a hide in here years ago.
The church has a new name - Redhill - but it used to be Bethel United.
The "church on the hill" dates to 1823, when Methodists met in a sturdy log structure across the road from the present church building. By 1848, a frame church was constructed on land donated by John Featherston and Thomas Wise. Timbers from the Featherston bush were used in the original clapboard structure. In 1914-1915 a solid brick building was built at a cost of $7,000. The original Methodist congregation became Bethel United in 1925 when union of Methodists, Congregationalists, and some Presbyterians took place.
Please be respectful of the surroundings.
The cache is in a back corner of the cemetery.
