Geocache Description:

I was hiking with Da Bush Man in Ayr recently and he asked if we could plan our next hike to Waterloo since he had an errand to run there.  He said he was having some issues at home and needed to discretely visit a specialty shop in search of a solution.  I asked him if I could help, but he told me he did not want to talk about it because I just wouldn’t understand.  After pressing the issue a little further, he begrudgingly admitted that he has a problem with his “dongle”. Being a proud man he did not want to discuss the topic of dongle dysfunction.

Not one to leave a friend without support I reached out to Da Bush Lady. I knew Da Bush Man was with his band that night so I called her to offer my support in any way I could. She was surprised that I knew about his dongle problem, but didn’t have any additional details to share; it seems Da Bush Man was keeping this to himself.  I contacted Da Bush Boy hoping that they had one of those father and son talks about being careful with your dongle, but he didn’t have any answers either.

Later that night, I got a message from Da Bush Man asking if I could do the driving for the Waterloo hike the next day as he didn’t feel up to it, and if I minded waiting outside the specialty shop while he had his dongle taken care of.  At this point, I simply assumed that a dongle problem is one of those things that " if your dongle lasts more than 8 hours, seek the advice of a physician".

I knew he would be in there a while so I had to find something to occupy my time… and I thought this would be a perfect time to go dumpster surfing.  I found lots of awesome dumpsters and had lunch while I waited.  Along the way, I hid this cache.

When Da Bush Man returned, he was silent. I asked him how his dongle was and he said “It’s in my pocket”. Knowing this was not the ideal outcome I felt bad for my friend. Despite the ordeal with his dongle and the fact that it was now in his pocket, he did agree to hike. However, the rest of the day was just full of DNF’s.  Clearly, Da Bush Man’s mind was not focused on geocaching, and I’m sure all he was thinking about was that his dongle was now in his pocket.

Just to be safe, the moment I got home I checked my dongle just to be sure I didn’t end up with the same problem…….I was relieved to see that my dongle was operating just fine.

The hint is not in any way a reference to Da Bush Man's dongle, it is merely a coincidence.

CONGRATS TO thebruce0 FOR FTF!!!
