En liten cache i närheten av Onsvalakällan. Onsvalakällan ligger i slutet av etapp 9 av leden 'Ås-till-ås' i Skåne. Källan ligger cirka 100 m från vindskyddet. Cachen är gömd söder om källan. Undvik att bli blöt om fötterna!

This cache is situated nearby Onsvalakällan. Onsvalakällan is at the end of phase 9 of the hiking trail 'Ås-till-ås' in Skåne. The well is about 100 m from the windshield. The cache is hidden south of the well. Mind the wet surroundings!

Namnet Onsvalakällan kan härledas från de svarta storkarna som förr i tiden häckade i skogstrakterna kring källan. De betraktades som Odens budbärare och kallades för Odens svalor. En annan teori är att källan användes under hednisk tid som offerplats till Oden. Källan lär ha magiska egenskaper och en äldre sed kring den innebar att ungmör smög dit om kvällen med sitt mer eller mindre dyrbara smycke. Smycket kastades i källan och ungmön kunde då få se sin tillkommandes bild i vattenytan.
I källans närhet lär det ha legat en kulle som hette Odinsvallen där segrande krigare brukade fira efter striden.

The name Onsvalakällan can be derived from the black storks that used to nest in the woodlands around well. They were regarded as messengers of Odin and were called Odens swallows.
Another theory is that the well was used during pagan time as a place of sacrifice for Oden. The well was supposed to have magical traits and an older ritual was that maidens sneaked out there at night with a jewelry and threw it in the well and could see her future husband in the surface of the water.
Nearby the well, a hill named Odinsvallen, was supposed to be situated, where victorious warriors used to celebrate victories.
