Geocache Description:

There can be no stand up paddleboarding, no kayaking. The lake is frozen, and it must be time for the Ice Breaker event. Who is willing to travel to the frozen Catskills to stand on a frozen lake and discuss geocaching? Perhaps you, since you are reading this.

It has become an annual mecca. The frozen lake. In years past we have played croquet, set up a human sled slingshot, and tried our luck at ice fishing. This year we return to a popular activity: Curling.

You have seen it on TV. People sliding stones across the ice to a target. You have always wanted to try it. The truth is, it is quite fun.

We have the stones to play, do you have the fortitude to attend?

What to bring? Beverage of your choice (bring extra as there are always moochers). Sleeping over? A sleeping bag and pajamas.  Fishing? Tip ups and a jig rod, bait.

What will be supplied? Curling stones, chili or stew as usual, a warm place to get out of the cold, beds for some, cot space for others, floor for everyone else to sleep (bring a cot)

If you have a snow shovel, bring it please. Ice skates too. Also, consider bringing a bundle of wood to keep the fire going. We have to stay warm somehow.

This is a fun event, as silly as it sounds. It's time to get out of the house, drive a few hours, and see how quiet and peaceful a frozen lake can be.
