Geocache Description:

35mm film pot, log and pencil

Coots Corner fishery is well known in the area and my son used to fish there regularly. The ponds are fed by the Nine Springs and the water flows from the ponds into the River Purwell (which starts when the Ash Brook and the St Ipollyts Brook join not far from here). While one could just pull into the entrance of the fishery it is regularly in use and is not advised. Much better to park somewhere nearby and get some exercise. The approach from the St Michaels Road/ Wymondley Road roundabout is now much safer since the council made a rough path along one side of the road. Because the road is busy and cars travel fast until the get to the roundabout, please keep children and dogs under control.

What are you looking for. Find the Fish - it is very obvious. The cache is a few feet away. It is a white 35mm film pot with a log and pencil and when placed, a little silver heart. Experienced cachers should not need a hint as they will see all the likely hiding places, but for those just beginning, I have given one. While you are searching, the two horses in the field may come to see what you are doing - there is no need to enter the field - but after a while they will learn that there is something hidden and may give you a clue if you speak horse.
