This cache is a bit of a cheat in the series as the phonebox has been removed since my OS map was published, however it is such a nice spot that we decided to place a cache here anyway. There is plenty of parking by the side of the road, and a coveniently placed bench to rest for a moment as you sign the log. We have also stocked up this cache with plenty of swaps for little (and not so little!) children.
Fascinating Facts: The thatched chapel nearby dates back to 1840.
If you continue along this road you will see signs for, the now derelict, Linford Park Nursing Home. This is a huge building which was built in the early 1940s as Linford Hospital, a WWII TB ward, before being converted into the nursing home as it stands today. After an immigration raid in 2010 which resulted in 17 staff arrests, it finally closed down in 2012. Since then there have been controversial plans to convert it into a drug rehabilitation centre. Sadly it currently stands derelict.
