Le Cheylard - le pont de la Sablière Traditional Geocache

Le pont de la Sablière

Son nom provient du sable qui s'accumule naturellement à ses pieds. Il fut construit pour permettre l'accès au moulin "Banaret" du seigneur de Brion sur la rive droite de la Dorne.

On retrouva les traces de ce moulin au milieu du 19eme siècle, lorsque la famille Lafont décida de le transformer en moulinage (pour le travail du fil de soie).
Le batiment fut léguer à la ville du Cheylard qui le transforma en hopital en 1975.

The Sablière bridge

Its name comes from the sand that naturally accumulates at its feet. It was built to allow access to the mill "Banaret" of Lord Brion on the right bank of the Dorne.

We find the traces of this mill in the middle of the 19th century, when the Lafont family decided to transform it into a mill (for the work of the silk thread).
The building was bequeathed to the town of Cheylard which transformed it into a hospital in 1975.
