Park at the Akaroa Heritage Park (on Long Bay Rd) or the Brocherie's Rd Carpark (see additional Parking WP) and take Curry's Track up to Browntop Saddle.....from here follow the sign and take the side branch up to the Skyline Beech Lookout (following the white tipped marker pegs) for some magnificent views - and a cache. From Brocherie Rd carpark to the saddle will only be a 15min walk, from the saddle to the lookout a further 15min.
The lookout track; although short, takes you across browntop (grass), through some gorse/manuka and then through some impressive beech forest! Plenty of signage & tree labels make it a facinating walk and well worth a visit. A seat at the lookout aids viewing pleasure.
