This geocache is hidden as part of the 2017 Waukesha Janboree - one of Wisconsin's Originals!  Wisconsin features so many other originals - we "Sconies" are proud of every single thing that originated in Wisconsin.  This series of geocaches highlights only a few of many Wisconsin Originals!

Lip Balm - a wax-like substance applied topically to the lips of the mouth to moisturize and relieve chapped or dry lips.The primary purpose is to provide an occlusive layer on the lip surface to seal moisure in lips and protect them from external exposure.

When cold temperatures arrive, Wisconsinites are known to stock up on any number of items to help them through the winter and cold temperatures.  One "must have" item needed to survive the sometimes frigid temperatures of winter is lip balm.  So many choices - but did you know that Wisconsin is in the lip balm market!  Alfred Woelbing began experimenting with creating his own line of lip balm and other cosmetic products in the early1930's.  After expermenting with his products, Woelbing created Carmex on his family's stove top in 1937.  Who knew - Another Wisconsin Original!
