Esse parque está localizado em uma área onde antes existiam duas grandes pedreiras e que desde 1996, ano da sua criação, estão desativadas. Na verdade, o parque foi criado para garantir a preservação da bacia norte do rio Barigui, um dos rios mais importantes que passa por Curitiba. Esse parque pode ser dividido em duas partes, a parte alta (onde fica o jardim Poty Lazzarotto e o mirante) e a parte baixa, onde ficam dois lagos, um túnel, pista de caminhada/corrida, ciclovia e um ancoradouro.
Atrações do parque:
– Jardim Poty Lazzarotto: é o jardim que vemos logo na entrada desse parque, que presta homenagem a um artista local. Ele fica de frente para o mirante, tem duas fontes e é super bem enfeitados com flores. Tem alguns banquinhos nos arredores, que certamente vale a pena sentar e curtir um pouco a paisagem.
– Mirante: é a construção laranja que fica “nos fundos” do jardim. O acesso as torres e a todo o mirante é feito por escadas que podem ser acessadas de ambos os lados. O mirante tem 65 metros de altura e garantem uma visão privilegiada de todo o parque e arredores.
– Túnel entre as Pedreiras: também na parte inferior do parque, logo abaixo da cascata fica um túnel de 45 metros de extensão que atravessa uma das pedreiras. Esse túnel pode ser atravessado a pé, através de uma passarela. Dali se tem uma ótima visão do restante do parque, do ancoradouro e do lago maior.
O legal é começar a visita pelos jardins, visitar o mirante e depois descer pelo lado esquerdo de quem entra no parque para a parte baixa. Assim dá pra visitar tudo de mais importante logo no inicio e deixar o trecho de subida final do parque (que não tem nada de interessante) por ultimo.
Esse parque também é muito famoso por ser um dos melhores lugares da cidade pra fotografar o por-do-sol.

This park is located in an area where once there were two large quarries and since 1996, the year of its creation, are deactivated. In fact, the park was created to guarantee the preservation of the northern basin of the Barigui River, one of the most important rivers that passes through Curitiba. This park can be divided into two parts, the upper part (where the Poty Lazzarotto garden and the belvedere are) and the lower part, where there are two lakes, a tunnel, a walking / running track, a bike path and an anchorage.
Park Attractions:
- Poty Lazzarotto Garden: it is the garden that we see right at the entrance of this park, which pays homage to a local artist. It faces the gazebo, has two fountains and is super well decorated with flowers. There are some benches in the surroundings, which are certainly worth sitting and enjoying the scenery a bit.
- Lookout: is the orange building that is "in the back" of the garden. Access to the towers and to the whole viewpoint is made by stairs that can be accessed from both sides. The belvedere is 65 meters high and guarantees a privileged view of the whole park and its surroundings.
- Tunnel between the Quarries: also in the lower part of the park, just below the waterfall is a tunnel of 45 meters of extension that crosses one of the quarries. This tunnel can be crossed by foot, through a footbridge. From here you have a great view of the rest of the park, the mooring and the larger lake.
The cool thing is to start the visit of the gardens, visit the belvedere and then down the left side of those who enter the park to the lower part. So you can visit everything of more important at the beginning and leave the final stretch of the park (which has nothing interesting) last.
This park is also very famous for being one of the best places in the city to photograph the sunset.
