The origin of the name "Canada" ~
Canada is a name derived from Huron-Iroquois “Kanata”
meaning, a village or settlement.

Official Colours: White & Red ~
White represents peace and honesty.
Red represents hardiness, bravery, strength and valour.
King George V proclaimed these colours the official colours of Canada in 1921.

Canada’s Motto ~
The motto of the Dominion of Canada is “A Mari Usque Ad Mare”
- officially translates into "From Sea to Sea" and "D'un océan à l'autre."

Interesting Facts ~

Canada is the world's second largest country, by landmass.
There are around 50 national parks in the country.
Some of the oldest known rocks on Earth have been found on the shores of Hudson Bay in Quebec ~ 250 million years older than any other know rocks.
There is a crater on Mars named after Gander, Newfoundland.
Alert, Nunavut is the most northern permanently inhabited town in the world.
Mount Logan is the highest mountain in Canada in the Yukon
and is continually rising due to active tectonic uplifting.
The Bay of Fundy between New Brunswick and Nova Scotia
has the highest sea tides in the world.

and Iroquoian, spoken by the Iroquois.
