Geocache Description:

The Klipspringer Hiking Trail

The trail is situated in De Voetpadkloof Nature Reserve.  Access can be arranged beforehand by phoning the reception at (013) 245-8500.  An entrance fee is payable.  (At published date the rates are: adults @ R 95.00/person and R 45.00/child.)

This cache is placed another along the Klipspringer Hiking Trail.  The Klipspringer is a 8.5-10 km Hiking Trail, depends how lost you get or looking for the white markers.  It is not an easy trail, you have to be fairly fit and take supplies with, i.e. about 2 lt water and snacks.  Also wear good walking shoes, wear a hat and for the people with not so strong knees, a walking stick.  Please be aware of snakes and creepy crawlies.  Afterwards check for ticks.

Disclaimer!!!
Ascending rock climbing in general are dangerous pastimes that can lead to serious injury or worse. You should not undertake these without proper training, equipment or proper care.  The owner of this geocache, property owners or Groundspeak® and/or its subsidiaries cannot be held responsible for any injury whatsoever sustained while attempting this geocache and an attempt to complete this geocache is done completely at your own risk.

This cache is one of a series placed showcasing the beauty of nature.  The cache is not hidden to be difficult, the terrain is making up for it, but rather enjoying a hike in nature.  When placing the cache, I saw a lot of game, and not a single soul.  Walk the route starting from No 1 - 10.   Set aside 4-5 hours for the hike.  When walking the route placing the caches, I walked it wrong way around.  It was a difficult climb.  But, ENJOY IT!!

The cache:

I placed this cache close to the Archery practice range as start of the series.  Beautiful trees with a lot of hiding places.

Please BYOP.

Maintenance:

Geocaching is a community-based activity to be enjoyed by everyone.  To find a DNF, after going to the effort to get to the location, is a great no-no!!  But sometimes, sh@#%(&*t happens and the container got lost, got destroyed, log sheet wet or full, ect, ect, ect ……..

Therefore, as CO of this cache, YOU that go through the effort to get to this cache, do have my permission & blessing to either replace the container (not an extravagant container) & log sheet, or the log sheet, whatever the problem might be.

I always try to maintain my caches, but it’s not always possible.

Just one request, please take a photo and place it with your log when you did some maintenance, I would appreciate it.

Thank you and enjoy the cache!!
