South Derbyshire Geo: Our 14th tour brought us to Telford for the day, two days after Storm Doris. Fortunately the really bad weather had abated, and whilst we walked in drizzle some of the day, it didn't stop the usual laughs and banter between the attendees. We covered 10.2 miles in total.
There was quite a gathering as we arrived in the morning for the event at Telford Central Station. The log book was signed, trackables exchanged and introductions made. We always love it when new friends join us on our packed schedule of geocaching for the day.
However this wasn't as big as the gathering on our return which consisted of the participants of a Britain First march. Fortunately the police let us through the throngs of people in balaclavas to the Beefeater pub next to the station, where we rounded off the day with drinks and a meal.
Highly recommend the burger van in the layby halfway round our route ... his bacon butties and cheesy chips are a must! We thoroughly enjoyed the day, so thanks to all the COs for the caches placed and found by us. We had a 100% find record today.
