Barred Owls are mostly active at night, but can be seen during the day.
When a Barred Owl is calling it makes a loud series of hoots. It sounds like; who cooks for you, who cooks for you all? They can also make a drawn out hoo-ah sound.
A common owl in these forests, feathers are brown and white with dark barring on the upper breast and dark streaks below.
